The iconic video game character “PAC-MAN” will celebrate its 45th anniversary on May 22, 2025. The anniversary year will kick off in January 2025. To get a head start on the celebrations, a “PAC-MAN” pop-up event will be held in Harajuku in December 2024. The anniversary theme starting in January 2025 is “MAKE IMPACT!”

 

PAC-MAN, the arcade game that debuted in 1980, will celebrate its 45th anniversary on May 22, 2025. The anniversary year will run from January 1, 2025, to May 22, 2026, with the theme “MAKE IMPACT!” We aim to highlight PAC-MAN’s evolution through the ages, past, present, and future, across the globe.

The 45th anniversary logo captures PAC-MAN’s excitement as it ventures into new worlds beyond gaming, including culture, sports, and technology.

A pop-up event will be held in Harajuku in December 2024, ahead of the anniversary celebrations!

From Friday, December 6, 2024, to Wednesday, December 25, 2024, a pop-up event celebrating PAC-MAN’s 45th anniversary will be held at Tokyu Plaza Harajuku “Harakado,” ahead of the official anniversary.

Area ①: WAKA WAKA READY TO PLAY! Area

In this exhibition area, you can actually play on arcade machines that were hugely popular in the 1980s, as well as the “World’s Largest PAC-MAN,” which is considered the biggest arcade machine in PAC-MAN’s history.

With a retro and stylish 80s atmosphere, this is the perfect space for both those who remember the era and those who are experiencing it for the first time. It’s a fun and enjoyable place to see and play.

*Please note that only some arcade machines are available for trial play.

 

Area ②: 3…2…1! …PAC-MAN READY TO SHINE! Area

TThis area is primarily a photo booth space. Next to a wall covered in silver glitter, you’ll find a rare vintage PAC-MAN arcade machine from overseas. In this pop and celebratory atmosphere, you can take a unique photo that you can only experience here.

 

PAC-MAN’s Recommended Birthday Highlight #2:

For the first time ever, a collaboration between two free spirits! The launch of the PAC-MAN × MUZIK TIGER collaboration products!

To commemorate the 45th anniversary, new PAC-MAN styles have been designed and combined with the cuteness of the popular South Korean character MUZIK TIGER. These exclusive collaboration products are now available at this event.

We offer a wide range of products, including postcards, phone cases, and magnets.

Interestingly, both PAC-MAN and MUZIK TIGER share a common birthday month in May. Enjoy this special collaboration celebrating their shared birth month!
